#3 Utica Pioneers Men’s Hockey hosts Stevenson this weekend

The Utica Pioneers will look to continue their momentum against Stevenson after a big weekend against #2 Adrian.

So far, so good for the #3 Utica Pioneers Men’s Hockey Team (1-0-1 overall, 0-0-0 UCHC).

The Pioneers opened their 2023-24 regular season by hosting the second-ranked Adrian Bulldogs last weekend. Many were expecting a close two games between the teams – which is exactly what happened. What perhaps wasn’t expected was the then sixth-ranked Pioneers pulled off what could be considered by some an upset. The teams skated to a 0-0 tie on Friday night, and the Pioneers scored a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday afternoon.

As a result of the undefeated weekend against the second-ranked team in Division III, Utica rose three spots to number three in the latest USCHO poll.

The first game will be on Friday Night at 7 p.m. and game two will be on Saturday afternoon starting at 2 p.m. Both contests will be at the Adirondack Bank Center and will serve as the first UCHC games of the season for both teams.
