#6 Hamilton College Women’s Hockey defeats Morrisville

Local rivals Hamilton College and Morrisville met on Tuesday afternoon at Sage Rink for a Division III Women’s Hockey matchup.

The #6 Hamilton College Continentals Women’s Hockey Team (1-2-0 overall, 0-2-0 NESCAC) picked up their first victory of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday afternoon. They hosted local rival Morrisville (3-3-0 overall, 2-3-0 SUNYAC) and defeated the Mustangs 4-0.

Hamilton got on the board at the 5:56 mark of the first period and never looked back. Grace Crowley scored her first of two power-play goals in the game to give her team a lead they would not relinquish. Grace Puskar drew the primary assist on both of Crowley’s goals.

The Continentals made the score 2-0 in the second period on a tally by Bobbi Roca. They put the game away in the third period with power-play goals by Claire McGennis and Crowley’s second of the game. The second Crowley goal was also an empty netter with 1:17 remaining.

Sami Quackenbush led all scorers with three assists. Lydia Bullock and Grace Puskar each recorded a pair of assists as well.

Mac Donovan made twenty-three saves in goal for Hamilton to earn the shutout victory. Maggie Jones made thirty-six saves in net for the Mustangs.

Hamilton College continues its homestand on Saturday when they host NESCAC rival Wesleyan. Morrisville plays again on Wednesday afternoon when they host Stevenson.
