Brian Halonen assigned to the Utica Comets

The New Jersey Devils announced on Saturday morning that forward Brian Halonen has been assigned to the Utica Comets of the AHL.

Halonen has been on the Devil’s injured, non-roster all season. The twenty-four-year-old forward is in the second of his two-season entry-level contract with New Jersey. He has not made his National Hockey League debut yet.

After finishing his college playing career at Michigan Tech, Halonen joined the Utica Comets for the last weeks of the 2021-22 season. He played fifty-seven games for the Comets in 2022-23, totaling seventeen goals and thirteen assists for thirty points while accumulating forty-six PIM. In the playoffs that season, he played six games and posted one goal and one assist to go with seventeen PIM.
