CNY teams in the USCHO polls – December 11th, 2023

Here’s a look at where the college hockey teams of Central New York stand in the USCHO polls for December 11th, 2023. To see all of the USCHO polls, visit https://uscho.com.

Division I – Women

The Colgate Raiders

  • This week: #4.
  • Last week: #4.
  • Records: 14-2-1 overall, 8-0-0 ECAC.
  • Last game: Colgate defeated Syracuse on Tuesday, December 5th by a score of 9-0.
  • Next game: The Raiders have entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on December 29 and 30 when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the Battle at the Burgh. Besides Colgate, Robert Morris, Maine, and Bemidji St. will be participating in the tournament.

Division III – Men

The Utica Pioneers

  • This week: #7.
  • Last week: #4.
  • Records: 6-2-3 overall, 5-0-1 UCHC.
  • Last game: The Pioneers were defeated by the Oswego St. Lakers 3-2 in Oswego on Saturday, December 9th.
  • Next games: Utica has entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on Friday, January 5th, and Saturday, January 6th for a pair of games at home against the Manhattanville Valiants. Friday night’s game will be played at the Utica University Nexus Center.

The Oswego St. Lakers

  • This week: Unranked, but did receive votes.
  • Last week: Unranked, but did receive votes.
  • Records: 8-5-0 overall, 6-2-0 SUNYAC.
  • Last games: The Lakers split a pair of games on home ice last weekend. On Friday night, they lost to the Cortland Red Dragons by a score of 5-2. The following night they upset the then-fourth-ranked Utica Pioneers by a final tally of 3-2.
  • Next games: The Lakers have entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on Friday, December 29th, and Saturday, December 30th when they host the Oswego State Hockey Classic. Concordia, Stevenson, and Cortland are the other three teams in the tournament.

The Hamilton College Continentals

  • This week: Unranked, but did receive a vote.
  • Last week: Unranked, with no votes received.
  • Records: 7-1-0 overall, 4-1-0 NESCAC.
  • Last games: The Continentals went on a weekend NESCAC road trip and won both games. On Friday night they defeated the Middlebury Panthers 5-1. On Saturday, they won 3-1 over the Williams Ephs.
  • Next games: the Continentals have entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on Friday, December 29th, and Saturday, December 30th when they host the fourteenth-ranked Trine Thunder.

Division III – Women

The Hamilton College Continentals

  • This week: #7.
  • Last week: #8.
  • Records: 5-2-1 overall, 1-2-1 NESCAC.
  • Last game: The Continentals defeated two ranked teams on home ice. On Tuesday night they defeated thirteenth-ranked Nazareth in overtime by a score of 2-1. On Saturday afternoon they won a 1-0 thriller over then-seventh-ranked Utica.
  • Next game: the Continentals have entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on Tuesday, January 2nd when they close out a nine-game homestand against SUNY Canton.

#8 Hamilton College blanks #7 Utica

The Utica Pioneers

  • This week: #9.
  • Last week: #7.
  • Records: 9-1-2 overall, 6-0-2 UCHC.
  • Last game: The Pioneers lost a 1-0 showdown against the then #8 Hamilton College Continentals at Sage Rink.
  • Next games: The Pioneers have entered their end-of-the-semester break. They return to action on Friday night January 5th and Saturday, January 6th for a pair of games at UCHC rival Alvernia.
