PROVIDENCE, R.I.– Elyssa Biederman tallied three points while Kaitlyn O’Donohoe, Kristýna Kaltounková, and Avery Pickering chipped in two apiece as the fourth-ranked Raiders broke down Brown on the road, 6-0. The win clinches the first overall seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Postseason Tournament as well as Colgate’s first regular season conference crown in three years.

“Winning a regular season title is not easy, especially in this league where there are so many good teams you have to face every single night. For this group to be able to come together night in and night out and accomplish something that’s really hard to do is special.

Neena Brick wasted no time getting the Raiders on the board scoring her 17th goal of the season just over two minutes into the contest. O’Donohoe fed the streaking Brick feet in front of a wide-open net after the fifth-year forward pulled the goalie’s attention away from center ice.

Biederman miraculously managed to put in the second score of the game when she redirected Pickering’s shot from the point into the top right corner of the net.

Still, in the opening period, O’Donohoe logged her second point with a one-timer she converted sliding away from the near post, slotting the goal on the assist from Danielle Serdachny.

The Raiders continued to roll into the second stanza when Biederman assisted on Kaltounková’s ECAC-leading 25th goal of the year and also scored one of her own. Colgate headed into the final frame outshooting Brown 29-13 but still had more in store for the hosts.

With two minutes remaining in the third, Sara Stewart potted her first goal of the season to put the exclamation mark on a convincing victory and send Colgate into the playoffs on a high note.
