The Utica Pioneers and Hamilton College Continentals both had outstanding recruit classes this past offseason. Both classes lived up to the hype, as Eric Vitale of the Pioneers and Luke Tchor of the Continentals have been named to the USCHO All-Rookie Team.

Vitale was a point-per-game player for the Pioneers with 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 27 games played. He finished tied for second on the team in goals, and fifth in points. Vitale was third on the Pioneers in shots with 88, had two game-winning goals, and finished a +21.

For the Woolner family hockey is a way of life

Tchor was a force to be reckoned with for the Continentals this season. He had 13 goals and 24 assists for 37 points in 26 games played. Tchor led Hamilton in goals, assists, points, shots (151), and +/- at +17. Two of his goals came on the power play, and two were game-winners. He was also named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year.

Central New York is not the only thing that Vitale and Tchor have in common. They were teammates on the Toronto JRC U-18 team in the GTHL prior to joining their respective college teams (thank you Domenico Vitale for the info).
