Santeri Hatakka recalled by the New Jersey Devils

On Sunday, the New Jersey Devils recalled defenseman Santeri Hatakka from the Utica Comets of the AHL.

This will be Hatakka’s second stint in New Jersey this season. From January 18 to January 27, he played three games for the Devils, registering one assist and was a +5. His previous NHL experience consisted of nine games with the San Jose Sharks in the 2021-22 season.

In 31 games played for the Utica Comets this season, Hatakka has three goals, eight assists, 41 shots, 26 PIM, and is a -3. He played the past two seasons for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League.

Hatakka is 23 years old and is a native of Riihimaki, Finland. He was a sixth-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Devils from the Sharks last season.
