Orange graduate student Rachel Teslak is the College Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for her performance in Syracuse’s series against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Teslak scored a goal, took six shots and had two blocks in the series. In Syracuse’s 3-2 win, Teslak tied the game, 1-1 in the first period, on a goal from Jocelyn Fiala. Teslak took the centering pass from Fiala in the slot and fired a shot into the top left corner of the net for the goal. 

This season, Teslak has one goal and one assist, 13 shots on goal and eight blocks in six games. A native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Teslak joined the Orange prior to the 2023-24 season after four years at St. Lawrence.

The Orange have three games this week, including at #9 Cornell on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7 pm at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, and a series at Boston University on Friday, Oct. 20 and Sat., Oct. 22 at Walter Brown Arena in Boston.
