Trio assigned to the Utica Comets

Topias Vilen and Yushiroh Hirano have been assigned to the Comets from the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. Durandeau added as well.

The Utica Comets roster has grown by two players Topias Vilen and Yushiroh Hirano, who have been assigned to the team according to the AHL and ECHL transactions pages. The recently acquired Arnaud Durandeau has been loaned to the team as well.

Vilen is returning to the Comets after being assigned to the Thunder on November 24th. The twenty-year-old defenseman played two games for Adirondack and had registered two assists, two PIMs, and was a -1. In six games for the Comets this season, he has four assists, five shots, four PIM, and is a +2.

Hamilton College Men’s Hockey Wins North Country Tournament

Yushiroh Hirano signed an AHL contract with Utica in the offseason and was assigned to Adirondack out of training camp. The twenty-eight-year-old, 6′ 2″ 205 lbs native of Tomakomai, Japan. Hirano turned professional in 2018, and prior to signing with Utica, he had AHL experience with the Abbotsford Canucks and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He has also played for the Wheeling Nailers and Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

In thirteen games for Adirondack this season, Hirano has six goals, six assists, three power-play goals, twenty-eight shots, four PIM, and is +6.

The New Jersey Devils have also officially loaned Arnaud Durandeau to the Comets. Durandeau was acquired from the New York Islanders in the Tyce Thompson trade on Sunday. In twelve games for the Bridgeport Islanders this season, Durandeau has one goal, three assists, twenty-three shots, twenty-three PIM, and is a -7.
