Utica Jr Comets Bantam AA Team helps local veterans

The Utica Jr Comets Bantam AA Team community service project benefits the Central New York Veterans Outreach Program.

By Matt Roach.

The Utica Jr Comets Bantam AA Team completed their first community service project for this season on Veterans Day Saturday, November 11th.  The team put together 30 gift boxes for the Central New York Veterans Outreach Program, a local not-for-profit organization that helps veterans and their families in our area.

Each player shopped for about 20 items to fill the boxes with a mix of toiletry items, personal items (socks, hats, gloves), and fun items (gum, mints, snacks, puzzle books). The items were packed into boxes and wrapped before practice one evening.  Each package also included a handwritten thank you note. On Veterans Day the boxes were delivered to the Central New York Veterans Outreach Program.

The coaching staff, players, and parents would like to thank Pam Vosburgh, Marissa Armstrong, and Kristy Webb for organizing a very successful event.
